That’s no small hurdle, especially considering the federal government still provides roughly 14% of all school funding.
At the same time, Higher Ed Dive reports the Department of Education is preparing to roll out regulatory updates to student aid programs, including changes to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program and two income-driven repayment plans: Pay As You Earn and Income-Contingent Repayment.

According to Inside Higher Ed, the administration is also cracking down on the student visa system, prompting colleges and universities to reassess how they support global learners. And NPR reveals the Supreme Court recently ruled 5–4 in favor of freezing DEI-related education grants—despite lower court opposition.
