HubSpot can use email domains to associate contacts with companies automatically. This doesn’t work well for the education industry. Almost all schools in South Dakota share the same email domain, and it’s very common for schools to have the same email domain as the district. We strongly recommend that you turn this setting off.

Purge inactive contacts and companies on a regular basis. The Institution Status Text and the Personnel Status Text indicate whether the record is active/inactive/closed.

• DON’T purge personnel or accounts with associated opportunities, tasks, notes, etc.
• When prospecting or marketing, exclude inactive personnel from your lists.

When two (or more) companies have the same Institution UID or two or more contacts have the same Personnel UID, this indicates that they are duplicates and can be merged.
