Bob O'Dell, Managing Partner
Bob O’Dell has extensive managerial experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of electronic systems including training personnel in a wide variety of information products. One of his specific strengths is in re-engineering processes that cut across organizational boundaries. Market driven, customer focused, and with an understanding of the bottom line, Bob works closely with sales, staff and clients to identify the key issues in growing and re-engineering the organization.
Prior to founding Agile Education Marketing, Bob as Director, Customer Solutions at Quality Education Data (QED), a Scholastic Company. With QED, he had responsibility for architecting and developing a new sales order flow and fulfillment program. He was also Product Manager for a new line of services being developed to allow customers to get the most out of their marketing databases.
Over his career, Bob has held leadership positions in a variety of large and small organizations including T.H.E. Journal, MDR, McGraw-Hill School Group, Mindscape, Scott Foresman Electronic Publishing, and Texas Instruments.
Bob holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University. He has received multiple awards from McGraw-Hill and Dun and Bradstreet for his innovative approaches and leadership. Bob retains many of his teacher qualities and clients will find that he is instrumental in growing the expertise and abilities of their staffs.
Verlan Stephens, Managing Partner
Verlan has over 30 years experience in the compilation, management and analysis of large databases. He is one of the founders of Agile and leads the data compilation efforts.
He has held senior management positions in a number of highly successful companies including: Director of Information Technology and Database Compilation for Quality Education Data, a Scholastic company, Vice President of Development of Codecorrect, a medical information company and Director of Information Technology the Arabian Horse Registry of America. His other experience includes serving as Director of Information Systems at Health Decisions International (a subsidiary of WebMD) and Director of Operations and Product Management at IHS Health Information (a subsidiary of IHS Group).
Verlan earned a Bachelor of Science, with Honors, in Mathematics with emphasis in Computer Science from Boise State University.
Scott Brooks, Vice President, Corporate Development
Scott Brooks has over 25 years of experience in a variety of corporate and business development leadership positions. Formerly Vice President of corporate business development at Critigen then Managing Director at Afferion, his career began in the data base products area in IBM labs. Throughout his career, Scott has worked in software and services organizations mainly focused on marketing data software and information technologies. He has extensive background in sales, marketing, business and corporate development in the areas of consulting, business intelligence, cloud computing, SaaS, IT Outsourcing and data offerings across many industries including education.
As an entrepreneur, Scott launched and sold a successful software company to IBM, built and ran software and services practices and has been a key member of the leadership team of several tech data companies.
On a personal note, Scott likes to ski, play volleyball, cycle and has been a musician since he was 13. Presently he leads a fun four piece band under his name playing throughout Colorado.
Dave Cohen, General Manager
As Agile’s General Manger, David Cohen is charged with corporate governance and strategy, along with oversight of finance, operations, legal and human resources. David joined Agile full time in 2012 after spending two years in an advisory role.
Prior to joining Agile, David was with Scholastic, Inc. Hired shortly after its acquisition of Quality Education Data, David was tasked with providing financial, operational and strategic guidance and leadership to restore QED’s financial health, culminating in the successful sale to Dun and Bradstreet.
Before joining Scholastic, David was with International Capital Partners, a Connecticut based Venture Capital firm. Serving in numerous capacities, his primary focus became providing turnaround management and executing exit initiatives within their distressed portfolio companies.
On a personal note, David spent 17 years coaching track and field at the high school and collegiate levels, including three years at Florida State University where he earned a Masters of Business Administration. Currently he is preparing his two year old son for the 2036 Olympics.
Suzanne Morgan, Director, Customer Experience
Suzanne Morgan has worked in the education marketing industry for fifteen years. Prior to joining Agile as one of its first employees, Suzanne held positions at MDR and QED working in database services, account management, and client services management. Suzanne has a deep understanding of education data and the skills to help clients use and understand that data with outstanding results. She enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals and is proud of the long term relationships she has maintained over many years with her clients.
Suzanne has a BS in Psychobiology from Binghamton University and enjoys her annual trips back to upstate New York with her son and husband. She also enjoys cooking, crafting (including some pretty awesome Halloween costumes), and spending time with her family.
Larry Sanek, Senior Vice President, Business Development
Larry Sanek has over 35 years of sales and business experience in the Information Industry. He has worked in education marketing for the past 13 years and was Vice President of Sales at Quality Education Data (QED) prior to joining Agile in 2010. In addition to the Education space, Larry has numerous years of experience in Energy and Healthcare.
Larry enjoys spending time with his family and many outdoor activities including skiing, running, biking, camping, and fishing. He has completed seven marathons, including the world renowned Pikes Peak Marathon.
Jenny Schumacher, Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Jenny Schumacher has been working in the education data world for 14 years and is proud to have spent the last several years as part of the Agile family. She has held a variety of roles in her career — including sales, marketing, operations and client services. She understands the education market and provides a unique organizational perspective to help clients exceed their marketing goals.
Formerly a Director of Operations with Denver Public Schools (DPS), Jenny worked with the talented team there to launch its ground-breaking teacher performance and evaluation program (LEAP). Prior to joining DPS, Jenny spent 11 years with Quality Education Data (QED), a leading education data company, and managed a number of operational and client-facing teams.
Jenny has a MBA with an Organizational Leadership emphasis, loves the team she works with at Agile, and dotes on her family — much to the chagrin of her pre-teen sons.
